Your health is an investment. We would like to help. Our focus is to create potent medicinal mushroom tinctures for the greater community, empowering you to regain a sense of autonomy with your personal healthcare choices.
There are many companies out there today that sell medicinal mushroom blends. Why choose us? What sets Forest Health Medicinals apart is simple: we gather the mushrooms ourselves from healthy ecosystems you can trust and we make the medicines ourselves in small batches with lots of love and intention.
Wild Hen of the Woods
We currently wildcraft all of the mushrooms utilized in our double extractions. Mushrooms macerate in high proof alcohol in darkness for 4-8 weeks and then the mark is separated and slowly decocted for hours at a simmer. When the alcohol solution and decoction (water soluble constituents including polysaccharides) are combined the finished product captures the maximum amount of beneficial nutrients from the fruiting body of the mushroom. We can't eat trees, but mushrooms can-through powerful extracellular enzymatic digestion the mushrooms can break down and bio-accumulate powerful medicines like long chain sugars and immuno-modulating substances (beta glucans), that we can capture and ingest for our own vitality.
Mushrooms have been evolving and growing for millenia, fending off competitors and creating vast internal bio-defense mechanisms for their own survival. We have been utilizing them as medicines for thousands of years in many cultures throughout the world. We at Forest Health Medicinals are excited to continue this legacy.
As we grow we hope to expand into the realms of Birch Polypore, Artists Conk, and Tinder Polypore to complement our available line of Chaga, Reishi, and Turkey Tail tinctures. We also look forward to providing powdered medicinals like Hen of the Woods during bumper crop seasons.
We believe wild mushrooms hold the greatest potency, but also value the excitement and sustainability of home cultivation. We maintain a test plot on an acre of property for outdoor grows and a small lab for tissue culture and agar work so we can grow through the winter.
